Rocket Lab USA (NASDAQ:RKLB) successfully launched for the first time from U.S. soil late on Tuesday.
The company’s Electron rocket lifted off from Launch Complex 2 at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport on Wallops Island, Virginia. About an hour after the launch, Rocket Lab deployed three satellites for HawkEye 360.
The company noted that it has now launched 33 Electron missions from three different pads in two countries, deploying a total of 155 satellites to orbit. Looking ahead, Rocket Lab (RKLB) plans 9 Electron missions in 2023.
Shares of Rocket Lab (RKLB) rallied 4.55% in after-hours trading on Tuesday and could be set up for a strong gain on Wednesday.
