The preconceived notions that exist within mainstream U.S. narratives about Asian and Asian American identities, cultures, and families perpetuate Asian and Asian American people as constant foreigners and political scapegoats. With the rise of Anti-Asian hate crimes in the country, Asian and Asian American artists are navigating how to advocate for their communities while also finding new ways in their artistic practice to celebrate resilience, survival and the ingenuity of ancestors throughout U.S. History.
